What public records show for food service in Alpha
Past emergency
Alpha and DR-4819
The most recent federal disaster on record for Henry County, which includes Alpha is DR-4819, severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, and floodng, declared September 20, 2024. Henry County has had 5 major disaster declarations since 2000. Floodwater can reach ground-floor kitchens and storerooms, and cleanup and inspection keep them closed. For a school, care home, or shelter in Alpha, that means cooking outside the building in a self-contained kitchen trailer until the inspection is passed.
Major construction
Road and utility work near Alpha
FEMA's Public Assistance program funded "Union Special Drainage District - Countywide Drainage Ditch Repair" (water control facilities, about $233,000) in Henry County after DR-4461, a severe storm declared September 19, 2019; FEMA lists the project as eligible. When work like this reaches Alpha, a kitchen can lose water or power for a shift or a week, and trucks may need another way in. A facility in Alpha that loses its utilities during the work could rent a self-contained kitchen trailer for those weeks.
Major renovation
Kitchen renovations in Alpha
Remodeling a commercial kitchen in Alpha does not have to stop meal service: a kitchen trailer and a refrigerated trailer can run beside the building for the length of the job.
Emergency equipment access
Getting equipment to Alpha
Illinois is in FEMA Region 5, which coordinates federal disaster support with the state's emergency management agency; locally, Henry County emergency management leads response. Those public operations are separate from our rental deliveries. Projects in Illinois are outside our Virginia lead market and are quoted case by case, with delivery distance and timing set out in the quote. Equipment for Alpha would travel I-55 and local routes, as it would for nearby Woodhull and Windsor. We confirm the route and site access with you before dispatch.

Renovation plan: a nursing home kitchen in Alpha
A worked example of how we would plan temporary food service here, using Alpha's own public records and our current price list. It describes what a facility like this could do, not a job we have done.
1. Situation
A 4-month project at a nursing home kitchen in Alpha, gutting the kitchen down to the slab and rebuilding it, would leave the building without a usable kitchen from the first day of demolition.2. Trailer setup
A 24ft Mobile Kitchen, and 12ft Refrigerated Trailer (Tier 1-4), parked near the loading dock, where staff can move food between the trailers and the serving line.3. Site and delivery
Equipment would travel the I-55 corridor, with the final route and gate access confirmed with the facility before dispatch. Setup would take about 5 hours for the kitchen trailer once power and water are ready, and about an hour for the refrigerated unit; stairs add 5–15 minutes.4. Timeline
Lock in dates when the renovation contract is signed. The trailers arrive just before demolition and stay 4 months, through final inspection of the new kitchen.5. Estimated rental cost
24ft Mobile Kitchen $4,995 + 12ft Refrigerated Trailer (Tier 1-4) $1,895 = $6,890 per month on our starting price list, or about $27,560 for 4 months. Delivery, setup, and pickup are added in the quote. This is an estimate, not a quote.
