Past emergency
Severe Storms And Flooding (2019)
FEMA declared major disaster DR-4461, severe storms and flooding, on September 19, 2019 for Adams County, which includes Mendon, for an incident that began February 24, 2019. It is one of 9 major disaster declarations covering Adams County since 2000. Floodwater can reach ground-floor kitchens and storerooms, and cleanup and inspection keep them closed. An emergency kitchen trailer and a refrigerated trailer can keep meals going while a permanent kitchen is cleaned, inspected, and repaired.
Major construction
Road and utility work near Mendon
FEMA's Public Assistance program funded "DR4461IL - Houston Township - Standard Culvert Replacement" (roads and bridges, about $170,000) in Adams County after DR-4461, a severe storm declared September 19, 2019; FEMA lists the project as eligible. Projects of this size change how a tractor-trailer reaches sites in and around Mendon, so the delivery plan starts with the current road conditions. A facility in Mendon that loses its utilities during the work could rent a self-contained kitchen trailer for those weeks.
Major renovation
Kitchen renovations in Mendon
A kitchen renovation in Mendon usually means new hoods, walk-ins, or floors, and weeks without cooking. A temporary kitchen trailer, booked early, covers that gap.
Emergency equipment access
Getting equipment to Mendon
Illinois is in FEMA Region 5, which coordinates federal disaster support with the state's emergency management agency; locally, Adams County emergency management leads response. Those public operations are separate from our rental deliveries. Projects in Illinois are outside our Virginia lead market and are quoted case by case, with delivery distance and timing set out in the quote. Equipment for Mendon would travel I-55 and local routes, as it would for nearby Ursa and Loraine. We confirm the route and site access with you before dispatch.

Emergency plan: a restaurant kitchen on the main street in Mendon
A worked example of how we would plan temporary food service here, using Mendon's own public records and our current price list. It describes what a facility like this could do, not a job we have done.
1. Situation
Suppose a restaurant kitchen on the main street in Mendon floods at ground level in an event like the one behind FEMA's DR-4461 (severe storms and flooding, declared September 19, 2019). Meals still have to go out while the kitchen is cleaned, inspected, and repaired.2. Trailer setup
A 24ft Mobile Kitchen, and 12ft Refrigerated Trailer (Tier 1-4), set on a level pad close to the facility's power and water connections.3. Site and delivery
Equipment would travel the I-55 corridor, with the final route and gate access confirmed with the facility before dispatch. On arrival, the refrigerated unit is cold-ready in about an hour, and the kitchen trailer takes about 5 hours to connect and start up.4. Timeline
Within the first day, the facility shares its meal counts and site photos. Equipment ships once placement is confirmed, and the weekly rental continues until the building kitchen reopens.5. Estimated rental cost
24ft Mobile Kitchen $4,995 + 12ft Refrigerated Trailer (Tier 1-4) $1,895 = $6,890 per month on our starting price list for a one-month emergency rental. Delivery, setup, and pickup are added in the quote. This is an estimate, not a quote.
